As we’re in the Christmas season, and as 2025 comes to a close, I’ve found myself thinking about all I have to be thankful for this year.

The biggest one by far is that Kami and I have had our first year of marriage.

It’s been beautiful, and we’re so thankful for it.

Today, I wanted to share a card that we had written for our placemats on our Colombian wedding. We had this translated and printed up, in front of every seat at our reception.

It’s, in a certain way, our marriage’s rallying cry.

I hope you enjoy it, and take it to heart. 💚

“Restoring together”

These words are written on our rings, in our home, on our hearts, and even on the shoes Kami is wearing today!

It’s an invitation and conviction, that we are called to orient our lives towards restoration in all we do…

That together we will see the pain and injustice in the world, and instead of ignoring or running, we will engage. That we will give our YES to being instruments of restoration. That we will strive together to catalyze creative solutions to bring hope, life, peace, and abundance to all the places where there is none. That we will always walk together towards better relationship with God, with ourselves, with humanity, and with creation.

On this beautiful and joyous day, as we celebrate our marriage and our lifelong union, we invite you to join us in our commitment to restoration!

We invite you to look at your life, and at the world around you – your relationship with yourself, with God, with your family, with your community, with your country and with creation – and to look deeply at anything and everything that is not as it should be…

And instead of running or shying away from the problems, injustices, and darkness, we invite you to join us by committing to do and be whatever is needed in order to RESTORE.

Because the restoration of all things will only be possible if we do it…

TOGETHER.
