I wrote this post with pen and paper.
Not with a keyboard, or by tapping a screen, or with some voice-to-text app.
But with a $1 pen in a $7 journal. (you can see a page of it above ↑)
OK… Cool… But, Why?
- I think AI can be a powerful tool to make us better humans.
- I love the “Josh” I am when I journal. Putting pen to paper feels so “Real” and so “Human.”
So, I wrote this post with pen and paper—phone left on the other side of the house.
When I was done, I took a photo of the pages, and sent a single photo message to my AI Agent.
My AI Agent (Hermes Agent) read my photo, and turned it into a blog post.
It formatted everything, fixed my spelling, automatically added that link at the start of this sentence, made a cropped and compressed version of my photo for a cover photo, and sent both to me for approval.
I gave it a “thumbs up” emoji, and it published it!
It also automatically made Spanish and Turkish translation pages at the same time.
AI has the potential to be a potent de-humanizer.
Slop, de-skilling, job displacement…
Art without an artist, words without soul.
But I’m convicted that it can be an even more potent “Humanizer.”
That it can help you become your best self—the version of you that you were created to be.
That it can help you share that true and whole YOU with the world.
I’m choosing to build in that direction, both personally, and for the organizations I lead and consult.
