Estimated nutrition
Serving size: 1 slice, when the 9-inch cake is cut into 8 equal slices. Estimates use butter and ¾ cup regular granulated sugar. No frosting, toppings, or extra fat for greasing the pan are included.
| Amount | Calories | Protein | Total carbs | Fat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 slice | 256 kcal | 7.6 g | 29.7 g | 12.7 g |
| Whole cake | 2,047 kcal | 61.0 g | 237.7 g | 101.5 g |
These are ingredient-based estimates, not a laboratory analysis. Brand, drained bean weight, cup measurement, and slice size will change the numbers.
Nutrition assumptions and sources
The calculation assumes 325 g rinsed and drained black beans from the can, 5 large eggs (250 g without shells), 85.2 g butter, 150 g granulated sugar, 32.4 g unsweetened cocoa, 13 g vanilla extract, 4.6 g baking powder, 2.3 g baking soda, and 3 g salt. These are approximate household-measure weights, not measured quantities from a finished cake. The can’s 540 ml is its labelled volume, not the weight of drained beans.
Ingredient values come from USDA FoodData Central. The drained-bean entry supplies protein, total carbohydrate, fat, and energy, but does not report fibre; fibre and net carbs are therefore not estimated here.[1] Egg and butter values use their USDA household weights.[2][3] Sugar, cocoa, and vanilla use the corresponding USDA entries.[4][5][6] Baking powder and baking soda are included in the calculation.[8][9] The salt entry contributes no calories or macros.[10] The water contributes no calories or macros. Vanilla extract’s ingredient energy is included before baking; cooking losses are not modelled. Calories are summed from each ingredient’s reported energy rather than recalculated from rounded macros.
